Renault's new World cars

RENAULT is using the Silverstone race track to unveil special editions of its Clio and megane models that are inspired by motorsport.

The French firm will take the wraps off the newcomers at the Renault motorsport festival at Silverstone over the weekend of July 4 and 5.

Called the Renault Clio, Coupe and Megane World Series, they get additional equipment including an extended front spoiler, side skirts and a sports rear bumper that are collectively said to be worth up to £1,190.

The Clio model includes the 1.2 16V 75, TCe 100 and dCi 86 engines.

Prices are from £12,170, which amounts to a saving of £680 in comparison to buying the body kit separately.

In the case of the Megane there are also new 17-inch alloy wheels and a choice of 1.6 16V 110 or dCi 106 engines mated to a six-speed gearbox.

The Megane World Series models cost from £16,595, which Vauxhall says amounts to a saving of £1,190.

In the case of the Renault Coupe World Series prices start from £16,995, which represents a saving of £940.
