GET INTO all the nooks and crannies and hear a bit of the region history and social history. Our rides of mostly in the 12-17 mile range (although some are longer especially in the winter) are long enough to allow us to encompass a range of features, and short enough to allow us to take a good look at them. They are achievable by anybody who puts their mind to it! They can also be walked in whole or in part. One of these articles will often precede a scheduled Discovery Ride. The cycling is free but there is occasionally an entry fee or donation required to visit a feature. The rides are run by the Dumfries and Galloway local group of the Cyclists' touring Club. For more info, call John on 01556 670395 or johnwtaylor@care4free.net. We are cycling the route described this week on Saturday November 15 at 10.30 from Southwick Church carpark (near Caulkerbush).Read
