Over the Rainbow for one night only

TICKETS have gone on sale at DG One for Over The Rainbow, the Life Story of Eva Cassidy – starring Zoe Tyler.

Zoe is known to TV viewers in ITV’s Loose Women, and as international vocal coach and panellist on Any Dream will Do, How Do You Solve a Problem like Maria and Grease: The School Musical.

This compelling, award-winning musical tours to DG One for one night only on Sunday, November 15 at 7.30pm.

Over the Rainbow tells the life story of the legendary artist Eva Cassidy, following her life through dramatic scenes and stunning live renditions of her music including a haunting interpretation of the song Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

This award-winning show has received plaudits from the Eva Cassidy Band and members of her family and contains projection and original footage from Eva Cassidy’s life, from an early age to her first professional gig aged 18; her first meeting with her boyfriend and mentor Chris Biondo; a rabble-rousing recording at Blues Alley with Chuck Brown; and culminates in her poignant and tragic death.

Before she died at the tender age of 33, she was unknown outside Washington, USA but within two years, she was discovered by Terry Wogan who promoted her music to the top of the album charts in the UK and now Europe, Australia and throughout the world.

A talented and world-class cast of actors and musicians recreate her original arrangements and recordings, which have received accolades from Mick Fleetwood and Sting and tributes from Nora Jones, Katie Melua and Chris De Burgh.

This show pays a genuine and heartfelt tribute to a true artist who wasn’t interested in fame and fortune, but wanted nothing more than to create beautiful music.
