Flying visit from Graeme Obree

FLYING SCOTSMAN Graeme Obree has come to Dumfries and Galloway to take part in the Original Bicycle Festival.

Mr Obree shot to fame in the early 1990s with his home-made bicycle when he broke the world indoor one hour distance record – twice.

He will give a talk tonight at the Robert Burns Centre before The Flying Scotsman film dramatising his life is shown on the big screen.

Mr Obree arrived in Dumfries on Wednesday and visited DG One as part of his first visit to the Bike Festival. He will be a regular fixture of the festival, taking part in events throughout the month.

The talk begins at 7pm with the screening beginning afterwards.
