SCOTLAND'S best known traditional musicians are set to hit the road again and will stop off in the region.
Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham will perform at two of the region’s premiere venues next month.
In 1988, two members from two of Scotland's leading bands, The Boys of The Lough and Silly Wizard, came together to work on a television series. Nowadays Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham are well loved household names the length and breadth of Scotland.
Their remarkable working relationship and friendship has endured and continued to thrive taking them all over the world which this autumn includes a festival in Galicia.
Now into their 21st year of touring they are filling all of Scotland's major performance venues.
In these years their dedication to their music has earned them both the title of Dr and the honour of an MBE.
Their Autum tour this year sees a quick diversion to Galicia in between Scottish dates in early August
During these years, when not touring the length and breadth of the country, the two talented musicians find time to make television series including the critically acclaimed Transatlantic Sessions which has just recorded a third series and the hugely successful BBC Documentary Series on the history of Scotland's music hosted by Phil who is currently filming a second series in Europe.
This autumn, in addition to their musical skills, they will once again be demonstrating their culinary skills at The Buccleuch Centre in Langholm with Celebrity Chef Paul Rankin.
The pair have had plenty of cooking practice, picking up recipes while touring the world and have even appeared on Ready, Steady, Cook in the past.
Aly and Phil will perform at the DG One leisure complex on Saturday, August 9, and at Langholm’s Buccleuch Centre on Sunday, August 17.
