Lunch is on housing groups

A DUMFRIES pensioners’ group has been donated money to pay for its annual social afternoon.

Loreburn Housing Association and the Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership, have donated £125 to Dumfries Elderly Forum.

The sponsorship money was used to pay for the forum’s annual lunch at the Masonic Hall in Dumfries.

The lunch was attended by 80 people who were entertained by three performers who sang, told jokes and played a harmonica and electric guitar.

Ahsan Khan, Loreburn’s chief executive, presented the donation to the forum.

He said: “Loreburn is proud to work closely with our partners in the local community.

“We are delighted to donate this sum to the elderly forum and look forward to further developing our excellent relationship further in the future.”

The elderly forum has more than 3,500 members who campaign to improve the lives of elderly people.
