A team from Stirling will visit Dalbeattie Star yet again this season but this time it is the students who will travel to Islecroft.
John MacBeth’s men lost heavily to Stirling Albion in the Scottish Cup, 5-0, but there will now be a chance for some revenge over the historic city.
As Star will play host to East of Scotland League high fliers Stirling University in the SFA Regional Cup (South) quarter final.
Boss MacBeth said: “I hear Stirling University are doing very well in their section and I can’t imagine it will be an easy tie. But it’s good to be drawn at home as it’s good to the club that the game is at Islecroft and creates some interest.”
This weekend the champions travel to Abbey Vale and after Saturday’s fixture black-out, the gaffer is hoping for some game-time to get some suspensions out the way.
He added: “I’ll just be glad to get a game but the weather is already making it look unlikely. We have a few suspensions hanging over us so it would be good to play this Saturday and get some of those out the way.”
