Threave made it eight wins on the trot at the weekend.
The Castle Douglas club beat Wigtown 3-1 at Trammondford to cement second place in the South League and keep the pressure on undefeated Dalbeattie Star.
It was interim boss Vinnie Parker’s sixth win in a row since taking over.
Sam Warren lobbed the keeper to give Parker’s side the advantage. Warren struck again with a header to make it 2-0. And the visitors killed off the game just after the hour when Sean Milligan headed home a corner.
Wigtown got a consolation late on but the home side were well beaten.
The result means Threave have opened up a five-point lead over third-placed Nithsdale Wanderers and opponents Wigtown. But they remain six points behind Dalbeattie, who have a 100 per cent record this season.
This Saturday’s clash with Heston Rovers has been switched to Castle Douglas and kick’s off at 3pm.
