Cup draws made

DRAWS for four of this season’s cup competitions were made at the recent Southern Counties AGM.

And Stranraer FC only feature in one – the Challenge Cup – as they have decided to withdraw from the league.

That leaves the number of teams at 12, with action set to kick-off on Saturday, July 28.

Cup draws:

Haig Gordon Cup, first round: Heston Rovers v Crichton; Newton Stewart v Threave Rovers; Nithsdale Wanderers v Fleet Star; Wigtown & Bladnoch v Mid Annandale.

Second round: Creetown v St Cuthbert Wanderers; Dalbeattie Star v Abbey Vale; Heston Rovers or Crichton v Wigtown & Bladnoch or Mid Annandale; Nithsdale Wanderers or Fleet Star v Newton Stewart or Threave Rovers.

Potts Cup, first round: Creetown v Heston Rovers; Crichton v St Cuthbert Wanderers; Newton Stewart v Mid Annandale; Nithsdale Wanderers v Dalbeattie Star.

Second round: Abbey Vale v Wigtown & Bladnoch; Creetown or Heston Rovers v Nithsdale Wanderers or Dalbeattie Star; Crichton or St Cuthbert Wanderers v Newton Stewart or Mid Annandale; Fleet Star v Threave Rovers

South of Scotland Challenge Cup, first round: Creetown v St Cuthbert Wanderers; Crichton v Abbey Vale; Fleet Star v Threave Rovers; Newton Stewart v Dalbeattie Star; Stranraer FC v Mid Annandale; Queen of the South v Annan Athletic; Wigtown & Bladnoch v Nithsdale Wanderers.

Second round: Creetown or St Cuthbert Wanderers v Newton Stewart or Dalbeattie Star; Heston Rovers v Crichton or Abbey Vale; Stranraer FC or Mid Annandale v Queen of the South v Annan Athletic; Wigtown & Bladnoch or Nithsdale Wanderers v Fleet Star or Threave Rovers.

The draws of the Cree Lodge Cup and Tweedie Cup will be made at a later date. All finals this season will be played at neutral grounds.
