Frost hits youths hard

ONLY three youth league matches survived the Sunday frost - none of them involving Stewartry sides.

They’ll all be hoping for better weather this weekend as they look to play their first games of the year.

There’s a Stewartry derby planned for the under-15s with Dalbeattie Star taking on Threave Rovers, with St Cuthbert Wanderers at Mid Annandale.

In the under-17s Star are at home to Mid Annandale and Threave also have a home game against Lochar Thistle.

And in the under-13s Threave are at home to Mid Annandale.

RESULTS for Sunday, January 15:

Under-15 League: Galloway Thistle 4 Terregles 3; Millennium 3 Mid Annandale 4.

Under-13 League: Annan Athletic 3 Lochar Thistle 4.

FIXTURES for Sunday, January 22:

Ryedale Cup (kick-off 11am) :Terregles v Heston Rovers, J Thomson.

Under 17 League (kick-offs 11am): Dalbeattie Star v Mid Annandale, B Park; Threave Rovers v Lochar Thistle, I Brack.

Lawrence T Wilson Trophy (kick-off 2pm): Lochar Thistle v Millennium, D Laurie.

Under 15 League (kick-offs 2pm): Dalbeattie Star v Threave Rovers, O Blackstock; Greystone Rovers v Heston Colts, E Walker; Heston Rovers v Galloway Thistle, J Boardman; Mid Annandale v St Cuthbert Wanderers, R Morrison.
