Primal Scream have been unveiled as the first headliners for this year’s Wickerman Festival.
The legendary rockers, known for hits such as Rocks and Movin’ On Up, will take to the main Summerisle Stage for their only Scottish festival gig of the year on the Friday night at East Kirkcarswell near Dundrennan.
They will perform tracks from their first new album in five years as well as some of their classics.
Joining them on the bill are Public Service Broadcasting, who will deliver a unique performance thanks to their mix of archive samples, electronic beats and live audio visual transmissions.
Festival co-ordinator Helen Chalmers said: “Primal Scream are one of Britain’s most iconic, inventive and exciting bands and having them play at Wickerman is a major coup, both for the festival and its fans.
“Once again the full line up will feature an eclectic and sometimes surprising mix of leading artists, alternative acts and exciting emerging talent, so whether its Primal Scream or Public Service Broadcasting stirring up the crowds with sizzling sets, we are certain that Wickerman 2013 will be one of the most relaxed, fun and friendly festivals of the summer!”
Primal Scream and Public Service Broadcasting are currently the only two acts announced for the festival on July 26 and 27.
