Mum’s Facebook trauma

Ann McKean

A MUM told yesterday of her “humiliation” after naked pictures of her were posted on Facebook.

Ann McKean says her friends won’t talk to her as a result of the X-rated photos appearing on the social networking website.

She claims the saucy snaps are the latest incident in a long running hate campaign against her, which has also seen her home in Braeside Crescent, Castle Douglas, vandalised.

Forty-one-year-old Ann (pictured) said: “It has gone beyond a joke. It’s degrading and humiliating and people I know just walk past me in the street.

“My health and my eldest daughter’s health are deteriorating and we are thinking of moving away.

“It started in August when a fake account was set up and naughty pictures of me were sent to my friends list.

“That account was shut down but another one was set up in September and it is still active.

“The pictures have been sent to my family, my friends and my current boyfriend.

“He was even sent a message saying there were videos and pictures of me on porn sites with other men, which is totally untrue.

“My boyfriend has also been sent older pictures of myself which show parts of me before I lost a lot of weight.

“The police have the power to shut these pages down and say they can’t do anything until they trace the IP (internet provider) address – but how long does it take to do that?”

The campaign against Ann hasn’t been restricted to the internet.

She added “There has been damage to the shed, my car has been vandalised while at my mum’s house, the locks have been glued up and the wheel nuts have been loosened – that’s attempted murder.

“Things have been taken from the house and there has also been damage.”

A police spokesman said: “We are aware of a number of reports of vandalism in Braeside Crescent at Castle Douglas in the last three or four months and our investigations into some of these matters are still ongoing.”
