Dumfries make a winning return

AFTER a brief period of exile, Dumfries Tennis Club once again entered the County leagues with a winning start in their home fixture against Stirling. The match format consists of four singles and two doubles rubbers.

With the newly rejuvenated courts, Dumfries had little trouble overcoming their central belt opponents. Colin Dunbar (6-1, 6-2), Lister McKiddie (6-0, 6-0), Chris Topping (6-0, 6-0) and debutant Dan McKiddie (6-2, 6-2) all had straight set wins and with Colin and Lister (6-1, 6-2) and Chris and Dan (6-1, 6-3) completing the victory. The team have one more home fixture and two away ones to complete the league.
