Sailing: Fife challenge for sailors

TWO Annandale SC teenagers travelled to Largo Bay in Fife at the weekend for a Laser Radial Scottish Traveller event.

In a fresh breeze and relatively flat sea on Saturday, competitors enjoyed excellent racing and, although the breeze dropped to between four and eight knots on Sunday, a total of six races were completed.

Alastair Johnstone put in a solid performance, a first in the last race putting him in overall sixth, while Amelia Joseph also competed well finishing 10th overall.

Former ASC member Alistair Smith, who now sails for Aberdeen and Stonehaven YC, finished third.
