Cycling: League at halfway point

Dumfries Cycle Club was back at Lockerbie for the fifth of ten handicap races where the top seven results count.

J Moir was fastest time with a time of 23:57. B. Smith, with a PB, was second at 23:57 and J. Patterson, also with a PB, third with a time of 23:59.

Other results were: B. Geddes 30:03, R. Waitt 29:31, R. Love 28:20, A. Garret PB 28:05, D. McCalley 27:38, C. Little 26:34, A. Barclay 27:04, A. Johnson 27:08, A. Ure 28:29, N. Prichard 25:59, G. Kerr 26:21, J. McConnachie 26:33, A. Crieghton 25:32, N. Henderson 26:08, W. McCubbin 25:06, D. Barnes 25:27, M. Wallace 25:31, M. Thompson 24:28.

These 10 mile time trials are handicapped races which gives every member a chance to win points. The seven best from ten are taken into account.

J Patterson has increased his gap at the top over reigning handicap champion M. Thompson. The gap is growing between them and third place J. Moir, but watch for B. Smith – he has scored 2 tens!

June 24 – Beattock 25 mile time trial.

June 29 – Chaplecross TLI Practice.

July 1 – Hoddam TLI H/C road race (meet Brydekirk School).
