THE RECENT Dumfries Lions Club Charity Curling Tournament attracted 22 rinks to Dumfries Ice Bowl.
After some hard fought games, the High Road Trophy was won by the Ice Picts rink skipped by Graham Sheddon with vice skip Caroline Donaldson, second Andy Cameron and lead Gillian Graham.
The Low Road was won by the local rink skipped by Kenny Murray with vice skip Stuart Henderson, second David McMiken and lead Ian Jamieson.
Stuart Armstrong of Dumfries Lions Club said: “The Lions Club would like to thank all those who take part in this our 15th tournament.
“The competition would not have had the same success without the assistance of Graham Sloan who helped organise the event and the Ice Bowl staff who provided excellent ice for all the curlers. Thanks are also due to the staff of Café DG who looked after us so well.
“I would particularly like to thank the Aberdour Hotel for their sponsorship and Colin Freeman, Ice Bowl manager, for his assistance.”
The tournament raised more than £1,400 for charity and part of this money will go to Oakfield Children’s Respite Service in Dumfries.
