A TEAM of five swimmers competed at the May Phillips British Swimming Championships on Saturday at Central Pool, Reading.
Annandale and Eskdale Leisure Trust, in partnership with Annandale and Eskdale Disability Sport, took the team from Annandale and Eskdale to team up with other swimmers to make a squad of 20 from Scotland.
This was the second time the trust had taken swimmers to the British Swimming Championships organised by Down Syndrome International Swimming Organisation on Saturday at Central Pool, Reading.
The team took part in three individual and team relay events, smashing their personal best times in most events bringing home a total of eight medals.
Sam Pattinson scooped two silver medals in the top 25m and 50m Freestyle event and bronze in the top 25m back crawl event.
Kevin Ellwood brought back a gold medal in the 25m freestyle and bronze in the 25m back crawl. Mandy Harkness won the gold in the 50m freestyle and bronze in the 25m back crawl, and the Scotland male team also won silver in the relay.
Sam Pattinson is now in training for his next competition at the Down Syndrome World Championships in Portugal in November.
