MASTERFUL PERFORMANCE: A Lockerbie rink won the National Masters Championship at Greenacres Curling Rink in Renfrewshire at the weekend. Bobby Rae’s rink went undefeated in their section in this over 60s contest to qualify for the play-offs. In the men’s semi-finals, they defeated the rink of Michael Sutherland 9-6 to reach the finals where they met Ritchie Knox. The Rae side scored a three in the fourth end to take a 4-2 lead at the halfway stage. They went on to stretch out that lead to 8-2 and handshakes were offered by the opposition after the seventh end. The winning team, pictured left to right, are Ritchie Strawhorn, David Carlyle, Bobby Rae and Matt Murdoch.Read
