LAST Saturday saw St Michael’s first XI travel to Irvine.
With a poor result the week before, the team was hoping to get back to winning ways.
But losing the toss and being asked to bat wasn’t a good start, as the wicket was rather poor and the batsmen didn’t really play well again. A poor total of 87 was posted.
The bowling, however, did better, taking six wickets as Irvine just managed to knock it off the runs.
This was another loss to the team.
If they could post a competitive total things might have been different.
With a home game this weekend against Helensburgh, the team will be hoping to turn things around, and put in a good performance.
Thanks go to match ball sponsor, Alex Wilson electrical.
Scoreboard: St Michael’s 87 all out, C Brockwell 15, J Goodin 14, D Rankine 11, C Taylor 11 no.
Irvine 88 for six, D Rankine 2-18, A Dawson 3-34, M Cowie 1-16.
