Gala contest on Moffat roads

MOFFAT Gala held the annual Senior and Junior road races on Tuesday evening.

Around 200 runners entered the senior event, with Dumfries athlete Marcus Scotney leading the field home in a time of 53.34

Filling out the top ten places were: 2 Ben Mitchell, Lasswade; 3 Michael Pluckrose, Border Harriers; 4 Darin Dougal, Moorfoot Running Club; 5 Michael McGovern, Moorfoot Running Club; 6 Wull Hynd, Moorfoot Running Club; 7 Paul Hart, Dumfries Running Club; 8 Jonathon Dale, Dumfries Running Club; 9 Robert Rogerson Kirkintilloch Olympians; 10 Joe Boardman, Annan and District AC.

First lady home was Gill Laithwaite from Border Harriers; second was Lisa Findlay from Dumfries Running Club; and third was Angela Kidd from Edinburgh Road Club.
