Mini games called off due to water logged pitchs

THE Dumfries Saints mini games against Cumnock and Ayr were called off on Sunday due to water-logged pitches at Cumnock.

Training for those hardy enough to brave the driving rain took place at Park Farm instead.

This was a productive session for both coaches and players. Although, the competition at the end to find the player who could slide the furthest along the ground when scoring a try was perhaps a step too far for the watching mums, who are still trying to get the kit clean for this weekend!

The minis travel away to Biggar this weekend. Meet at Park Farm at 9.15am for departure at 9.30am. If travelling direct to Biggar, aim to be there for 10.30am for an 11am kick-off.

If wet, check with coaches before travelling: Duncan Kennedy 07860 474001; Phil Hair 07540 749997.

If game is called off, there will be training at Park Farm from 10am onwards.

Midweek training for P4-P7s will commence at King George V outdoor pitches from Wednesday, November 11, 8pm to 9pm. Remember suitable footwear for astroturf.
