AGM
President Don Barty welcomed a healthy turnout to the clubs AGM held in the clubhouse at 17 Bank Street.
He thanked all the coaches, committee members, bar staff and all other helpers who had given of their time and efforts over the season.
The season on the playing side had not been helped due to the inability, over the season, to gain continuity on the field due in the main to the dreadful weather and player availability.
Both senior sides had, despite some poor results, maintained their positions in the S.H.E. National League Division 1 and Division 4 (West) of the Scottish 2nd XV Leagues respectively.
It had been particularly heartening to see the Under 14 side up and running by the end of the season.
In the coming season Annan will be celebrating their 40th season and it was intended to mark the occasion with events throughout the year.
He also welcomed the fact that the club had as their main sponsor Magnox North on board for their 18th season. He closed his report with a call to arms for the coming season.
Club treasurer Lindsay Currie reported on the clubs finances, which despite some major outlays, mainly at Violetbank, were in a healthy position.
He outlined the major developments planned for the coming season which included ongoing pitch improvements at Violetbank and clubhouse refurbishment and a major push for fundraising in the coming year.
The following members were elected as club office bearers for the 2009/10 season:
Club president: Don Barty; club vice president: Colin McCann; club treasurer: Lindsay Currie; fixture secretary: Brian Peat; referees’ secretary: Ian Gilmour
