AN AMAZING £5,000 has been raised for Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary Breast Cancer Care by big-hearted Lochmaben golfers.
The Kirk Loch Texas Scramble was a huge success on Saturday, July 9.
Lochmaben Golf Club was awash in pink for the event ... and then awash with a midday mini monsoon.
Play had to be suspended for an hour but thanks to the fantastic green staff who came to the rescue, play resumed and tee times nearly caught up with the original play.
Lady captain Jane Reid said: “There were 64 teams this year and every team made an effort with pink certainly being the colour of the day. A huge thank you to all who helped on the day, contributed prizes or made donations to make the competition such a success.”
She added: “An on-course quiz proved to be a challenge once more with some hilarious answers and Betty’s famous pink quiz raised over £500 prior to the competition. May Austin baked pink goodies while the ongoing raffle and the star prize raffle at the end of the night kept the pink theme momentum building.”
