THE SOUTH West of Scotland Championship was played at Wigtownshire County Golf Club on Saturday, May 23:

Championship winner, Gillian Monteith (Dunskey) 77+80=157; runner up, Lindsey Kirkwood (Pow) 84+82=166.

Handicap trophy winner, Cate A Smith (D&G) (15) 72. Silver: 2, Fiona Macgregor (Thorn) (8) 74; 3, V Neil (WC) (18) 77 from V Shipley, L Jack, Y Millar, N Clanachan. Bronze: 1, Aileen Reaich (D&G) (29) 75 bih; 2, Sue Bedford (D&G) (24) 75; 3, G Gardiner (D&G) (29) 77 bih from R Kirk, A Kerr.

Team trophy: Thornhill with a combined score of 273 (Fiona Macgregor, June Laurie, Margaret Davidson, Margaret Tait).
