Chuffer Cup played in memory of Jim

THE Chuffer Cup was played at the County Golf Course in Dumfries last Friday.

The cup is in memory of Jim Dinnell from Twynholm and 41 of Jim’s colleagues and friends came from all over the country to play.

The winner was Doug McConnachie from Derbyshire and the runner up was Gary Miller from Castle Douglas. Third was Neil Patterson from Birmingham and fourth was Michael Rennie.

Dumfries’ Gordy McAllister won the Chuffer Duffer Trophy and Paul Dinnell won nearest the pin.

This year Joe Donohoe gave a trophy in memory of Steelie (John Steele) who played a few years for Jim’s trophy, who was a friend to all competitors. This was won by Gary Miller who had the longest drive.
