THE CRUACHAN Cup was played for recently over the Dumfries and Galloway with over 150 pairs taking part.

The course was once again in excellent condition and this was reflected in the scoring all day.

The winners were Stephen Cairns and Michael Worden with 46 points. The scratch was won Sean Kennedy and Colin Gray with a 65.

Results: 1 S Cairns and M Worden 46pts; 2 E Whirefield and D Murray 45pts (bih); 3 D Reid and C Millburn 45pts; 4 K Kirkpatrick and P Whitelaw 44pts (bih); 5 B Crosbie and J Currie 44pts (last six holes); 6 T Kerr and K Potts 44pts. Scratch: S Kennedy and C Gray 65.

This popular competition was played on August 3 in changing weather conditions, but the scoring was still good. The winning team returned an excellent 119.
