Queens fans’ favourites receive awards

QUEENS fans clubs have awarded accolades to their favourite players.

On Saturday before the Dunfermline game, the Queen of the South Fan Club made their end of season players awards. Pictured above, vice chairman Davie Campbell presents Paul Burns with the young player of the year award; Betty Brown presents the Donald Brown Memorial Cup for the goal of the season to Bob Harris; Stephen Dobbie receives the Player of the Year award from Brian Murphy, chairman of the QOS Fan Club.

Presentations were made on last Saturday by the Sanquhar branch of the Queen of the South Supporters’ Club before the match against Clyde.

The Jim Kerr Memorial Trophy for player of the season went to that ‘goal machine’ Stephen Dobbie; Jim Thomson was presented with a silver salver to mark his testimonial year while Gordon Chisholm received the Duncan Paterson Memorial Trophy for his services to Queens. Andy Aitken travelled up to Sanquhar for the social night and turned out to be a popular ambassador.
