QUEENS boss Gordon Chisholm is calling for a win in the club’s final match of the season at Palmerston tomorrow.
Chisholm’s men are in fine form - enjoying a three game winning streak which includes last weekend’s fantastic 7-1 battering of Clyde.
Now Dunfermline come to town - a side who have had a similar yo-yoing season to Queens.
But with the club’s relegation fears relieved by last weekend’s emphatic win, Chisholm wants his side to concentrate on moving up the table.
Only a handful of points separate those out of contention for relegation or promotion, and Chisholm has his eyes on a high finish.
Chisholm said: “After Saturday’s result, we’re safe and we can relax a little.
“If we can stay in the top half of the table, the rest will look after itself.
“I’d love to finish 3rd, but it’s looking unlikely. We gave ourselves too much to do. What I want now is to finish on a winning note.
“It would be good to sign off for the season at Palmerston with a win.”
Queens’ 7-1 victory over Clyde was clearly still fresh in Chisholm’s mind, as he looked to tomorrow’s game.
He added: “I was delighted with everything about the game. It was a special day - everything just clicked into place on the day. It’s a different game on Saturday, but I want the same effort and enthusiasm from the boys this weekend.”
