QUEENS gaffer Gordon Chisholm is frustrated that his team are not back in action tomorrow.
The Doonhamers registered a vital win over Dunfermline at East End Park last weekend, and Chisholm is keen to build on that success.
He told the Standard: “I’m disappointed we don’t have a game this weekend.
“I felt we’d been building up a good head of steam, with a good performance against Partick Thistle and then a great result against Dunfermline.
“I feel the momentum has been with us, so it’s disappointing not to have the team back out again playing at the weekend.”
Queens form since the new year has been a definite improvement on the end of last year, with the Doonamers taking away points from three of the four league matches of 2009.
Chisholm puts much of the improvement down to the business done during the January transfer window.
He said: “The new boys are definitely upping the ante.
“With a strong squad we can compete with anyone, and we’ve showing that with our last few performances.”
But Queens have been rocked by the news that one of the new signings, Barry Wilson, is facing up to a month on the sidelines with a groin injury.
And with a vital home match against bottom Airdrie next weekend, Queens will be hoping the day off tomorrow due to the Scottish Cup will make them stronger for that clash.
