Ryan returns to Queens

FORMER Queens’ favourite Ryan McCann looks set to be back playing with the Doonhamers in a sensational return to Palmerston.

The Morecambe defender is to put pen to paper this morning, making him available for Queens’ clash with Partick Thistle this weekend.

The 27-year-old full back featured heavily in the Queens’ side, and scored a memorable long range effort in the quarter final during a 2-0 win over Dundee.

McCann left Queens last season, returning to England due to personal reasons.

But, after a second spell at Morecambe, McCann looks set to be back in blue for tomorrow’s game against Partick Thistle.

Queens’ boss Gordon Chisholm said: “We have had talks with the player, and he has agreed terms with the club.

“He is fully expected to sign for the club in time for Saturday’s game.”

Meanwhile, Queens’ new boy Barry Wilson could be set to make a quick return to his former club, as their new manager.

Caley Thistle sacked Craig Brewster earlier this month, and it is believed that Barry Wilson could be in line for the post after being released from the Inverness outfit earlier this season.

But competition for the position at the team who sits bottom of the SPL is fierce, with a number of other managers also believed to be in the frame.
