QUEENS fans will see three players make their home debuts when they take on Partick Thistle at Palmerston tomorrow.
And for one of the Queens’ new boys, it will be a first ever visit to Dumfries.
Barry Wilson, Lee Robinson and Martyn Lancaster are all set for their first experience of the Queens’ home support.
Central defender Lancaster, who has never been to Dumfries, is looking forward to the experience.
He said: “I’m really excited about playing in front of my home support for the first time.
“It’s a big game for the three of us making our home debuts, and it’s a massive game for the club.
“We need to start climbing the table and give our fans something to be proud of.”
Queens’ dismal form began with the injuries of a number of first-team players.
But with a full squad to choose from for Saturday’s game, manager Gordon Chisholm is hoping tomorrow’s game will be the one that changes the direction the club has been going in.
Chisholm said: “There’s no denying how important the game is.
“It will be a tough game, but with the new lads in the side making their home debuts, it will be a chance to get some more points on the board.
“It’s a big game for the new lads, and it’s a big game for us.
“I know the fans will be out in force supporting the team.”
And a familiar face will be returning to Palmerston tomorrow.
Former Queens’ boss Ian McCall will be hoping his Partick Thistle side will be able to capitalise on the poor run his former club are on.
But the Queens’ gaffer isn’t concerned about the return of McCall.
Chisholm said: “When a former player or coach returns to their old club, they always want to get a result, it’s only natural.
“But this game doesn’t need any extra spice.
“It might be appealing for the fans, but it wont affect the players.”
