QUEENS take on Falkirk in the Homecoming Scottish Cup with a chance to get some revenge following their CIS Cup defeat against the Bairns earlier in the season.
And Doonhamers boss Gordon Chisholm believes this is a chance to focus on something other than the club’s league form.
Speaking to the Standard, he said: “We’re looking forward to the game after last season’s cup run. It won’t be an easy game, and we would rather it was a home match, but we were unlucky in the CIS cup game against them.
“The cup does let you get away from the hum drum of the league, and hopefully it will be a springboard for the rest of the season.”
Gary Arbuckle’s injury shocker last weekend means he will remain in hospital until next week, and out of Queens’ starting 11 for the rest of the season.
Burns is doubtful, and Chisholm plans to play it safe with players who have recently recovered from injury.
When Queens took on Falkirk in the CIS Cup earlier this year, Falkirk won 2-1 with a controversial goal.
Queens went home disappointed on that occasion, and all who witnessed the successes of last season’s run will be hoping for a return to form for the Doonhamers.
