Checking out the cup
SHOPPERS in Dumfries were given a rare chance to see the famous Homecoming Scottish Cup, on Monday.
Scotland’s national treasure began a tour of Scotland in anticipation of this weekend’s cup ties.
And Queens’ chairman Davie Rae wasted no opportunity in getting his hands on the silverware.
He said: “We nearly got our hands on it last season, and it’s great to see it in Dumfries.”
Queens’ take on Falkirk on Saturday, and after the success of last season’s cup run, it will be hoped the visit to Tesco will not be the only time it comes to the region this year.
Football fans made the special trip to the supermarket to see and take pictures of the famous trophy.
The cup began a tour this week which will see it head to Inverurie, Forres and Perth in the next few days, with visits to Edinburgh and Glasgow soon to follow.
