Your chance to win cup tickets

THE NEW Year is fast approaching and 32 Scottish clubs are dreaming of glory in the Homecoming Scottish Cup.

There will undoubtedly be many twists and turns in this historic competition between now and the final and with the fourth round approaching the atmosphere is building in communities across the country as they bid to make it through to the last 16.

Queen of the South travelled all the way along the road to Hampden last season and they are looking to repeat that journey but to get to the last 16 they need to overcome SPL side Falkirk.

If you want to be at The Falkirk Stadium on Saturday, January 10 to cheer on Queens you can be, courtesy of the Homecoming Scottish Cup, which is giving you the chance to win a pair of tickets for the match.

The Scottish Cup is the oldest trophy in football and is one of our National treasures.

Homecoming Scotland 2009 is a programme of over 300 events celebrating our other national treasures, our rich culture and heritage.

It also marks the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet who gave us Auld Lang Syne. Come on, join the celebrations.

All you have to do to win a pair of tickets for the match at the Falkirk Stadium is answer the following question:

Where will the final of the Homecoming Scottish Cup be played?

If you know the answer, then send your entry on a postcard, along with your name, address and daytime contact number to:

Cup Ticket Competition, Dumfries and Galloway Standard, Maxwelltown Industrial Estate, Glasgow Road, Dumfries, DG 2 ONA.

Closing date for entries is: Monday, January 5.
