Queens’ book launch

QUEENS fans will have the chance to meet their heroes and get signed autographs this weekend.

Palmerston players will be in the Loreburne shopping centre from Sunday to Wednesday to promote a new Queens’ book.

Passport to Europe tells the story of the club’s fantastic Scottish Cup run.

The book contains more than 300 photographs taken by Kenny Ramsay.

There are also plenty of tales, told by players and the fans, of their experiences during last season’s famous cup run.

Pictures and stories come from the very first tie against Peterhead, to the eventual European defeat in Denmark.

There will also be a photo exhibition taking place in the shopping centre, with free prints to give away.

Queens captain Jim Thomson will be signing copies of the book from 12.30pm until 2.30pm on Sunday, with chairman David Rae will also dropping in.

Queens’ forward Sean O'Connor will be signing books between 3pm and 4pm on Tuesday.

And Neil MacFarlane and Andy Aitken will also be signing books between 1pm and 2pm and 3pm and 4pm respectively on Wednesday, November 26.

Former on-loan Queens’ goalkeeper, Jamie MacDonald said: “For me it is a great keepsake to show family and friends the part I played in the historical year for Queen of the South.

“These are moments that I will always have.”
