QUEENS boss Gordon Chisholm is staying at Palmerston.
He pledged his future to the club after talks with chairman Davie Rae on Sunday.
The two met after Dundee made an official request on Friday for permission to speak to Chisholm about taking over the Dens Park hotseat.
Mr Rae told the Standard on Monday: “I spoke at length with Gordon and the position is that he’s very happy at this moment in time with Queen of the South.
“I have today sent a fax saying I refuse to let Dundee FC speak to Gordon Chisholm and I would like to think that will be it.
He added: “Gordon will be continuing as manager of Queen of the South. He has no intention of going to the managerial role at Dundee.
“I’m absolutely delighted that he has decided to stay.
“We are going very well at the moment and Dundee are finding it quite difficult.
“To be quite honest I don’t think he would be bettering himself by moving from Queen of the South to Dundee.”
Chisholm, who recently signed a new two-year contract, is one of three names on the Dens Park shortlist.
Dundee also want to speak to Brechin manager Michael O’Neill and Airdrie boss Kenny Black as possible replacements for Alex Rae who was sacked last week after a dismal start to the season.
The Dens Park club is ninth in the table and lost 2-0 to bottom side Morton on Saturday.
In contrast, Queens moved a point clear at the top of the table with an away win over Ross County.
Under Chisholm the team reached last season’s Scottish Cup final and qualified for Europe.
Mr Rae said: “He’s lifted us to another level, there’s no question about that.”
