Queens’ cup odds

IT’S Scottish Cup this week but high-flying Queen of the South face a First Division rival when they travel to Lanarkshire to face Airdrie United.

And McBookie believe they are strong favourites to progress in the tournament where they reached the final two years ago.

Queen of the South are 8/11 favourites to win the tie, Airdrie are 10/3 and the draw is 13/5.

McBookie spokesman Paul Petrie said: “We are best price on an Airdrie win and the reason for that is we are very afraid of Queen of the South. They have been excellent all season and we want to be on their side. I can see them winning this one in a canter.”

First scorer market has Rocco Quinn at a bumper 14/1 to open the scoring at the Shyberry Excelsior Stadium on Saturday.

The Palmerston Park club to be winning at half time and at full time is an attractive 7/4 and given Airdrie's recent form, that has got to be a strong possibility. A 1-0 win is 11/2 and a 2-0 victory is 13/2.
