One youth game beats the weather

THE INCLEMENT weather put paid to all but one of the 11 scheduled fixtures on Sunday.

In the surviving match, Lochar Thistle made the long journey to Stranraer to face Millennium in an 11am kick off.

After a four-week lay-off, Lochar struggled to get into the game but Millennium could not take advantage, finding Hugh McDavid in fine form in the Lochar goal.

Millennium also had their keeper Josh Clive to thank for keeping the game goalless at the interval.

Lochar came out after the restart with all guns blazing and were in front within five minutes thanks to Ryan McColm, who then went on to add another three. Greig Lawrie also matched that haul of four and Jamie Parker added another as Thistle dominated the second half.

Man of the match was Lochar’s Henry Sainsbury closely followed by Habib Ullah.
