Annan Board re-elected

ANNAN Athletic will be led into their second season in the Scottish Football League with an unchanged boardroom team.

At an AGM of the club, members of the board were re-elected to serve for another two years.

That means John Irving, Henry McClelland, David Robison, David Warwick and Keith White will stay on the management committee of the club.

James Smith was elected to the committee as a new member and will also serve for two years.

Eric Dunion was also elected to the committee and will serve for one year.

Alan Irving was appointed general secretary/treasurer and Richard Shaw was appointed match secretary with both appointments unopposed.

Following the AGM, Henry McClelland was re-appointed as chairman and John Irving was re-appointed as vice-Chairman – both positions were unopposed.

The re-election of the club officials follows a landmark last 12 months in the club’s history.

It saw the tiny team from Galabank admitted to the Third Division from the East of Scotland league.

And what followed was a tremendous run in the league which saw the club narrowly miss out on a play-off position.

Meanwhile, Annan’s top performers have been recognised for their hard work over the season at the club’s annual awards evening.

The supporters’ club player of the year was named as goalkeeper, Craig Summersgill; players’ player of the year was midfielder Kevin Neilson; supporters’ club away-day player of the year was striker Graeme Bell, with top goal-scorer being confirmed as Mike Jack.
