Annan played host to Dumbarton at Galabank on Saturday.
Dumbarton’s Ross Clark notched up the first of what would be three goals in the 23rd minute.
Athletic’s defences were penetrated again when Denis McLaughlin took the second goal for the visitors at the beginning of the second half.
The home side managed to reclaim some dignity as Peter Watson scored the first and only goal half way through the second half.
But the point claim was punished by Dumbarton’s Derek Carcacy who scored a third and final point at the end of the match.
