MEMBERS of the Dumfries Touring Bowling Club have been on the road.
Around 50 people from eight different clubs went to Eastbourne for the week where they enjoyed playing on a different bowling green each day.
The club’s organiser Dave McPherson spent all of last year organising the trip with a little help from Hazel Edgar, and together they made a marvellous job of the program.
One of the members, Margaret Elliott, said: “One of the fun parts to the game is that the rink with the biggest difference when losing their game get the booby prize. Out of five games Dave’s rink got it twice the last two games. The skip has to look after the club mascot Miss Piggy until the next game – that means that Dave will have a little companion until the next trip in 2010.”
The club has been running for 15 years.
