THE NITHSDALE Indoor Bowls Club completed their knockout finals at the weekend at Dumfries Ice Bowl. Winners were:

Mixed triples: Donald and Jennifer Poland, Peter Gracie; runners up Stewart Gilmour, Roy McDermott, Jessie Adamson.

Gents fours: Willie Dalgleish, Bob Gilchrist , Jim Hannah, Eric Hodgson; runners up Alan, Willie, Davie Green, Les Shuttleworth.

Ladies fours: Maureen Love, Irene Brown, June Austin, Kathy Moffat; runners-up Anne Gordon, Christine Vidler, Hazel Sloan, Helen Bell.

Gents triples: Colin Peacock, Craig and Donald Poland; runners-up Jim Hannah, Bob Gilchrist, Willie Dalgleish.

Senior fours: Billy Moffat, Laurie Jardine, Jim Gillespie, Jim Cowan; Stewart Gilmour, Mario Motroni, Roy McDermott, Peter Gracie.

Ladies two bowl pairs: Sylvia Heyes, Isobel Moffat; runners-up Maureen Love, Kathy Moffat.

Gents singles: Alan Green; runner-up Ray Gall.

Ladies singles : June Austin; runner-up Jean Carmichael.

Open senior singles: Ray Gall; runner-up Jessie Adamson.

Gents pairs: Mario Motroni, Martyn Rice 23; David Green, Billy Haining.

Ladies Pairs: Mae Donaldson, Betty Kerr; Jan Oliver, Zoe Haining.

Mixed fours: June Austin, Irene Brown, Jim Austin, Ralph Richardson; runners-up Willie Dalgleish, Stewart Gilmour, Margaret Crosbie, and Marion Caskie.

The president Bob Gilchrist made all the presentations.

Ladies nationals

Nithsdale ladies play in the national fours semi-finals this weekend against Falkirk at Dundee Bowling Club. Representing Nithsdale are Maureen Love, Irene Brown, June Austin, Kathy Moffat.

Juniors

Recently the juniors’ presentation of trophies and goodies for the end of season points competition was held at Nithsdale Indoor Bowls Club.

Thanks were extended to the coaches for their work and for supporting the juniors encouraging them to take part in the sport of bowling by Mae Donaldson, Margaret Gillies, Andy Welsh, David McPherson.
