NITHSDALE Indoor Bowls Club was the venue for the first round of the Scottish Cup, sponsored by Robert Horn, Jewellers, between Tweedbank and Irvine on Saturday.
There were never more than a few shots between the sides until the last two ends when Tweedbank forged ahead to win by 82 shots to Irvine 76 shots.
Nithsdale is competing in the preliminary round of the National Fours on Saturday against Dumbarton at Blantyre BC (9.30am).
Representing Nithsdale are Donald Poland, Alan, Willie and David Green.
Newton Stuart are also taking part, against Cumbernauld at Blantyre BC (9.30am).
Nithsdale ladies are competing in the first round of the National Fours, sponsored by Thomas Taylor (Bowls) Ltd, on Saturday against Irvine at East Kilbride BC (2pm).
Representing Nithsdale are Maureen Love, Irene Brown, Valerie Gordon and Kathy Moffat.
Newton Stuart are taking part in the preliminary round of the National Fours on Saturday against Whiteinch at East Kilbride (9.30 am).
