Gretna 2008 will be hoping to make up for their cup exit last week when they host Stirling University in the league tomorrow.
The Raydale Park men were dumped out the Alex Jack Cup at the semi-final stage by First Division Craigroyston last Saturday.
A slack second half display cost the home side a chance of a final berth, shipping two goals shortly after the restart.
Gretna’s Steven Degnan scored ten minutes from time to give Kenny Brown’s men a glimmer of hope but when Sam Atkinson had the chance to make it all square near the end...his free kick failed to trouble the Craigy goalkeeper.
So there will be no cup final for the Black and Whites at this early stage of the season.
On top of that they have only played three games in the East of Scotland League top flight this season and could struggle against the second placed students this weekend.
Their last league fixture was more than one month ago when they beat Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale 2-1 to claim their first three points of the season but with just a win, a loss and a draw to their names, Kenny Brown’s side’s season is yet to get in to full swing.
The fixture between Gretna 2008 and Stirling University at Raydale Park kicks off at 2.30pm.
