RNLI and Kippford Regatta race

THE ANNUAL single race regatta was held on Sunday prior to Kippford Week.

A total of 59 cruisers and dinghies entered in six classes. The classes are racing for a coveted RNLI pennant, as well as trophies, and proceeds from the race are given to the RNLI.

Regatta prizes were presented by Jean Armour to the following:

Solway Cup and Cruiser pennant: John Searle/Stewart Monaghan/Gareth Jones in Kintra.

Kippford Quaich and Flying Fifteen pennant: Scott Train/Anne Stewart in Iffor the Engine.

Loch Cup and Handicap 1 pennant: Sandy Gass in a Contender called Fender Bender.

Committees Cup and Handicap 2 pennant: Euan Towart/Eilidh MacDonald in an RS200 called Face Up RS Down.

Thomas Henderson Quaich and Laser Radial pennant: Douglas Hay in The Green Gherkin.

Penman Cup for first Mirror and Handicap 3 pennant: Robert Johnstone/Matt Downing in Don’t Stop Me Now.

Mabie Cup for first Laser Standard: Time Colbeck in The Duke.

Cadet Cup for second Mirror: Katherine Kelly/Philippa Benson in Nippy Sweetie.

Glenisle Cup for first Topper: Emma Lane in Asterix.
