NHS records access control urged

Patients should be allowed to know who has been accessing their medical records, the Labour Party said.

This came as doctors' leaders insisted tighter controls were needed to limit "inappropriate access" to patients' electronic records.

MSPs have debated a Holyrood report on the emergence of 'telehealth' schemes and clinical portals, a computer software system that allows clinicians and GPs to access patients' medical data anywhere in Scotland.
