POLICE in Dumfries are hunting vandals who targeted a couples garden for the eighth time.
James and Margaret Montgomery, of St Teresas Crescent, were angered to find their lawn apparently covered with weed killer.
The incident, which happened overnight between last Thursday and Friday, has left the grass and plants damaged.
And pensioner James, aged 77, claims similar attacks have happened several times in recent years.
He fumed: We have had to deal with this eight times in the last eight years. We take pride in our garden and then some lout comes along and tries to ruin it.
Its left my wife upset as she spends a lot of time working on it and we have spent several hundred pounds over the last few years doing it all up.
Its a quiet street and we never get any bother apart from this.
I dont know why someone would target us we dont bother anyone and mind our own business.
As well as having to redevelop their garden, the Montgomerys are also concerned over the safety of their Shetland Sheepdog.
Retired lorry driver James said: Im worried that this could be harmful to our dog.
If the dog was to lick his paws after walking in it he could take ill or worse and that is the most worrying thing.
