Students get tough on councillors

AN MSP has won a competition called I’m a Councillor Get Me Out of Here.

Dumfries’ Elaine Murray was crowned the winner of the quiz, which saw politicians answer questions from students.

In order to survive in the online competition, which lasted two weeks, the politicians had to keep answering points.

Dr Murray was presented with the winner’s trophy by John Brown, Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament.

She said: “I am delighted to have won this brilliant competition. The competition holds a real meaning behind the fun. The younger generation need to find their local representatives accessible, and ‘I’m a Councillor, Get me out of Here’ has given them this opportunity.” Apart from Dr Murray, the rest of the competitors were councillors.
