Christmas card competition draws to a close

THERE are just a few days left for children across the region to play their cards right with the Standard ... and win a prize.

Our popular annual Christmas card competition, which closes on Wednesday, December 8, offers children the chance to get crafty.

Youngsters aged up to 12 are invited to create their own hand-made Christmas card using crayons, paints, felt tip pens, glitter, stickers or any other art and craft material. The best card will win the artist a £50 voucher kindly donated by Marks and Spencer in Dumfries.

The runner-up will receive a £40 voucher from Specsavers in Dumfries.

There are also prizes to be won in three separate age groups generously donated by Argos, Church Place, Dumfries. Cards should be sent with the artist’s name, aged, address and telephone number to: Christmas Card Competition, Dumfries and Galloway Standard, Park Lane, Dumfries, DG1 2AX.

Standard competition rules apply and all winners will be notified and should be prepared to attend a prizegiving on Monday, December 13.
