Dumfries teenager accused of fire starting

A TEENAGER has been accused in court at Dumfries of recklessly starting a fire which damaged the interior and exterior of a shop in the town.

Paul McCann, 17, of Stakeford Street, Dumfries, appeared in private before Sheriff George Jamieson.

He was on a petition alleging that on May 27 at the rear of WH Smith in Irish Street he set fire to a plastic bin containing cardboard, paper and other material. No plea or declaration was made and the case was continued.
